It’s another packed month for live entertainment, events and exhibitions so let’s get straight into it, starting with our near neighbours at G Live.
Beyond the Barricades hits town on July 4th, featuring past principal performers from the legendary Les Misérables, and of course they will be performing the hits from this and other shows including Phantom, Blood Brothers, and many more.
If top notch stand-up is more your thing you will not want to miss Stitches Comedy Club on the 16th. What a line-up, with James Anderson, Laura Lexx, Paul Sinha and the one and only Chris McCausland.
For families we have Dinosaurs Live on the 18th, unbelievably for the first time since 1881, The National History Museum is going on tour, and it’s a show your little monsters will go wild over.
Our great friends at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre end June kick off July with the brilliantly funny Thespians. Written by the genius behind ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ and other theatrical disasters, this is an absolute must see for fans of comedy at its broadest and most farcical.
Between July 14th and 18th, centre stage is taken over by the wonderful Malory Towers, based on the books by Enid Blyton and adapted by Emma Rice. This is pure nostalgia, great stories beautifully told by a talented cast with lashings of laughs and not a few thrills.
July ends in Dolly Style with 9 to 5 The Musical running from the 28th to August 1st. What a show this is, with a top class cast hammering out the Dolly Parton score, delivering laughs at a million miles per hour…absolutely not to be missed!
Elsewhere in town this July Guildford Antiques and Vintage Market takes over the High Street on the 5th, while the monthly Farmer’s Market does the same on the 7th.
The annual Cheese & Chilli Festival returns to Shalford Park over the weekend of 18 and 19th of July, and it really is a great show for all the family
