AFTERNOON TEA IN GUILDFORD
Quintessentially English, Afternoon Tea at The Mandolay has quickly appeared as a Guildford tradition and it is not difficult to see why… Home made fruit and savoury scones, macaroons and freshly made tarts arrive alongside exquisite finger sandwiches of Smoked Salmon, locally produced ham, Sussex cheese and delicious moist chicken. Jams and preserves are also home made as is the bread. Of course we offer a selection of truly fine teas including many favourites as well as number of fruit infusions. – Guildford Good Time Guide
Mother’s Day AFTERNOON TEA
As Mothering Sunday approaches, it is time for Afternoon Tea at Mandolay to take centre stage once again — this time in honour of the women who deserve it most.
Join us in The Grill for a beautifully prepared Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, where tradition meets indulgence in the way only Mandolay knows how.
Freshly baked plain and apricot scones are served warm, accompanied by clotted cream and a generous selection of homemade jams — apricot, cherry, strawberry and mixed berry.
A refined selection of finger sandwiches follows, including lightly set goat’s cheese with caramelised red onion and rocket, chive egg mayonnaise with watercress, classic coronation chicken, and smoked gammon with wholegrain mustard sauce and baby leaves.
Handcrafted sweet treats provide the perfect finale: raspberry meringue tartlets, morello cherry with dark and white chocolate tartlets, traditional macarons and mini red velvet cake — each one as elegant as it is indulgent.
A complimentary gift for Mum is included, because the occasion calls for something a little extra.
Served exclusively between 14th and 15th March 2026.
Easter Weekend AFTERNOON TEA
As spring settles in, Easter Afternoon Tea at Mandolay Hotel brings a fresh, vibrant twist to the season — distinctly different, yet every bit as indulgent as our much-loved Mother’s Day offering.
Served in The Grill, this Easter edition is bright, refined and full of flavour.
Warm plain and blueberry scones arrive at the table freshly baked, accompanied by clotted cream and a generous selection of homemade jams — apricot, cherry, strawberry and mixed berry.
A carefully balanced savoury selection follows: lightly set goat’s cheese with caramelised red onion and rocket, chive egg mayonnaise with watercress, classic coronation chicken, smoked gammon with wholegrain mustard sauce and baby leaves, plus a smoked salmon blini finished with dill cream cheese and salmon caviar for a touch of elegance.
The sweet course embraces the lighter notes of the season — lemon and lime meringue tart, mango and passion fruit cake, salted caramel chocolate délice and traditional macarons. Each guest will also receive a special Easter gift, adding that final celebratory touch.
Fresh, colourful and unmistakably seasonal — this is Easter done properly.
Served exclusively between 03rd – 06th April 2026.

CREAM TEA
£9.95 per person
SCONES
Served freshly baked and warm, we offer a plain and raisin scone with a soft, yielding texture and a colour of warm white gold. The scones are accompanied by Rodda’s Cornish clotted cream, which we consider to be the finest in Britain, and Stokes British extra strawberry jam.
JAM FIRST, OR CREAM
It’s been a topic of much debate over the generations. In our view, it is the cream that comes first, followed by a teaspoon of Stokes British extra strawberry jam. Of course, this is just our own opinion, and the order of ceremony will always remain entirely a matter of the guest’s own taste and preference.
