Mandolay is comfortably the largest 4 Star Accredited Hotel and Wedding Venue in Guildford, independently assessed by the AA as one of the finest establishments in Surrey, and recognised for excellence by Conde Naste, and other highly respected travel journals.

Our eight event spaces can cater comfortably for parties between 10, and 300, and we have Rooms, Event Suites, and a Garden Area fully licenced for Weddings, and Ceremonies of up to 500 guests. We also have seventy-eight beautifully decorated and appointed bedrooms, including suites, and coach house accommodation.

Our largest event suite is fully self-contained, with a separate entrance, and all the facilities expected of a modern, first-class venue, including air conditioning, and lift access.

For over twenty years, Mandolay has welcomed Parties, Engagements, and Weddings from groups throughout or community, and we are extremely proud of our reputation as an inclusive venue. We appreciate that whilst it is important to celebrate our community, it is vital that we respect cultural, and individual traditions.

We have hosted events and weddings that are presented entirely respectful of traditional requirements, as well as beautiful fusions of varied cultures, and diverse backgrounds.

Our size, and the quality of our service makes Mandolay the perfect alternative to Marquee Hire and Wedding Barn style celebrations, whilst at the same time offering the flexibility often associated with this type of provision.

Dry Hire

We are experienced in every requirement asked of a dry hire venue, making our kitchens and service areas available to your choice of caterers and service providers. We have a detailed dry-hire contract that explains every detail of our commitment to excellence, and to ensuring that every cultural, and religious aspect of the hire is considered, and adhered to.

We work closely with external caterers, ensuring a seamless handover of our facilities, and of course, we ae always delighted to answer any enquiries from our fellow hospitality professionals.

Our Dry Hire Packages ensure that you can provide your guests with as much food as you require, as well as drinks, and simply take home any that remain unconsumed. We find that the flexibility of this approach makes planning a great deal easier for you, and we are of course always delighted to discuss individual requirements, and requests.

Capacities

Our largest space is The Mandolay Suite, comprising an area capable of hosting up to 300 guests on round tables, with capacity for service tables, with a dance floor and stage area. This Suite is licenced for weddings and ceremonies of up to 500 guests, while The Surrey Suite, immediately adjacent to The Mandolay Suite is licenced for weddings of up to 200 guests.

We also have a shaded outdoor area, complete with permanent gazebo and grassed lawn that has the capacity to host receptions and is licenced for weddings of up to 200 guests.

The Hotel

Mandolay is a 4 Silver Star hotel situated quietly in a conservation area, just a five-minute walk from Guildford Town Centre.

Our seventy-eight bedrooms and suites are individually decorated to the highest standard, featuring Osborn and Little wallcoverings, OKA accessories, and Hypnos Beds, every bedroom is air conditioned, and each bathroom features complimentary Molton Brown toiletries. Our Executive Rooms have safes, and fridges, and every bedroom has access to more than 900 TV channels.

Mandolay has recently been recognised for Excellence by Conde Naste Joahansens, as well as Green Tourism, along with other accolades for our service and facilities.

Guildford

The County Town of Guildford is well positioned just 35 minutes by fast train from London Waterloo, with easy road access to the M25 and wider motorway network via the A3.

The historic town has a 12th Century Castle, surrounded by stunning gardens, while the iconic High Street is packed with independent shops and wonderful places to eat.

Our Spaces

Surrey Suite

‘We couldn’t believe how quickly it was changed from hosting the ceremony to turning into a party room.’

Licenced for weddings and civil ceremonies of up to 200, and with capacity to comfortably seat 100 guests for a wedding breakfast, or more for an evening buffet, this space is truly flexible and ‘built for parties’ with its own dance floor and integral sound system.

The three rooms comprising the Surrey Suite can be used individually, or quickly and easily opened up to create a single span area with its own bar, comfortable seating and exclusive facilities separate from other parts of the hotel. Access to the private garden, terrace and Gazebo Lawn is via ground level double-doors.

From the moment your guests set foot on the steps leading to the suite, past our bespoke ‘flower wall’ and beneath the stunning, 200 drop chandelier, they will be transported to a wedding venue like no other.

The drama of entering a wood panelled room, with tables set to your precise requirements, chairs complete with silken sashes and a flower festooned top table, takes the breath away. You can imagine the scale of a suite capable of hosting ceremonies of up to 500 seated guests, but you will not fully appreciate the splendour and at the same time the glamour and intimacy that we are able to achieve in this unique space.
