It’s that time again, when we get out our imaginary crystal ball and attempt to predict the touches that will be ‘on trend’ for the year ahead.
Well, let’s begin by stating categorically that we do not like the expression ‘on trend’, we won’t be using that again…at least not in this little blog.
When it comes to trends, we have seen everything from Cupcakes to Sweetie Stations, flower walls and flash mobs, meringue dresses, and tartan trews. It is always a delight to accommodate such individual tastes, and thankfully, every single one of our list of trusted suppliers shares our passion for innovation, and inspiration.
So, what might we expect for the coming season?
We can see lots of bright colours, perhaps a return to formal wear, fabulous flowers, and statement celebrations, perhaps extending the traditional idea of the Big Day, to a huge weekend. Fly-on-the-wall style photography is certain to be a hit, and if we must stick our neck out, we are going to suggest that lavender will be the colour of 2024.
Smaller wedding celebrations have never gone away, and it makes sense that this year will be no different, perhaps with one eye on budgets, but also because ‘small is beautiful’ when it comes to an intimate event.
But one thing that we confidently predict is a move towards sustainability, locally sourced food, with eco-friendly invitations, and stationery, and bridal parties asking lots of questions about the green credentials of venues.
We are certainly seeing more and more couples that want to discuss sustainability policies, low-waste food preparation initiatives, and of course local, fresh produce that adds to flavour and reduces food-miles.
