This month is packed with live shows and fabulous entertainment, so let’s kick straight off with our great friends at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

Red Sky at Sunrise: Laurie Lee in Words and Music National treasure, Anton Lesser brings to life the extraordinary story of the author, traveling through the Cider with Rosie trilogy. The musical programme is described as ‘breathtaking’ and it’s an evening not to be missed on Tuesday June 10th.

The following night, Radio 4 stalwart and national treasure in waiting, Shaparak Khorsandi, brings her hilarious show Scatterbrain to Guildford, expect laughs and plenty of wistful brilliance from this consummate story-teller.

And while we are dropping the expression ‘national treasure’ around with abandon, the glorious Liza Goddard heads a star filled cast in the spooky tale of life in the Highlands, The Croft. It’s a dark tale that will have you spellbound from beginning to end, and it’s on between Tuesday 17th and Saturday 21st of June.

Our close neighbours at G Live start June in style on the 3rd with Aljaz and Janette – A Night to Remember, an evening of unforgettable dancing, live music and laughter.

Next up, on the 7th it’s time to go classical with Mozart: Clarinet Concerto as part of the Guildford International Concert Season.

It’s back to dancing on the 13th & 14th with Burn The Floor Presents Dianne & Vito: Red Hot and Ready, as Strictly winners Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola come together to light up the G Live stage.

But wait, there’s more. On the 17th the magnificent Oti Mabuse hits town with special guest (and Guildford local), Flavia to present Viva Carnival…you know that they are going to ‘bring the party’.

And just to prove that Guildford really does love a bit of Strictly brilliance, on the 19th it’s the turn of Anton & Giovanni to hit town with their show Together Again.

The 23rd sees a change of pace (phew!), as world-renowned historian William Dalrymple delivers  How Ancient India Transformed The World, this show will sell-out, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

And finally, a great big shout out to our mates at Guildford in Bloom as they host their annual Picnic in the Castle Grounds. It’s free to attend and there’s loads to see and do with entertainment from Guildford Fringe Festival performers, and loads of tea and cakes!
