We will begin this month’s roundup with a reminder that this summer, Guilfest returns to Stoke Park for the annual celebration of music and entertainment, and what a line-up they have.
The Proclaimers, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kid Creole (and his Coconuts of course), Kula Shaker, ABC, and a big favourite of ours, Heather Small, to name just a few of the acts, there’s also a comedy tent, loads of children’s entertainment, bars and delicious food options.

Back to February now as we take a look at what’s happening at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

On the 13th, The West End Tenors bring their ‘sensational’ show to town, celebrating the greatest triumphs of musical theatre and film.
A change of pace on the 12th, as comedy sensation and master of the one-liner, Mark Simmons takes to the stage with Jest to Impress, a brilliant comedian that’s destined for greatness, Mark has won numerous awards, and really is ‘the comedian’s comedian’.
Step into a glamourous world of deception and desire with the star studded adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s classic thriller, The Talented Mr. Ripley. Guildford is hosting the play from the 17th to the 21st, prior to its transfer to the West End, so see it now while you can afford it!
Two Halves of Guinness is a celebration of the life of Sir Alec, double Oscar winner and genuine ‘star’ of stage and screen, including more than 70 films. The story is brought to life by Radio 4 stalwart Zeb Soames, revisiting classic encounters in Hollywood and exploring the life of a true giant of the theatre.
The month at the Y ends in style with Taskmaster favourite Bridget Christie and her brilliantly funny Jacket Potato Pizza, ‘One of the brightest and best around’ heralds The Independent, and we could not agree more.
Over the road now to our great friends and near neighbours at G Live, and it’s another packed February for this spectacular venue, ‘kicking off ‘with An Evening with John Terry on the 2nd, a must for all Chelsea fans.
For comedy fans there’s something for everyone this February with shows from Phil Ellis, Mo Gilligan, Daliso Chaponda, the genius of Clinton Baptiste, national treasure Dara O Briain, Jordan Gray, Darren Walsh, Dan Tiernan, and the one and only Ross Noble.
