Welcome to Guildford Paper Moon, a glorious new bookshop that has just opened in Jeffries Passage, a place that is already causing quite a stir among book lovers in and around the area.
It is, as you would expect, packed with great books covering just about every subject and genre you can think of, the staff are bright, engaging, knowledgeable and really helpful. The shop itself is bright, airy and uncluttered, this is a place that promises plenty and delivers more.
We love Paper Moon and can’t wait to get to know them better.
If you are planning a trip to Paper Moon, you must make time to pop into Art & Grind, the coffee shop, café, gallery and artists hub right next door to Abbot’s Hospital on the High Street. It goes without saying that the coffee is great but you really must try their pastries, especially the pistachio cruffin…never tried a cruffin? Give it a go, you will not be disappointed.
September in Guildford is Fringe Festival time, with a packed schedule of plays, comedy performances, free events, and all manner of live shows at venues across town.
You can check out the programme and book tickets here
We love a bargain, and there are plenty to be had by downloading the free Experience Guildford Privilege Card App.
With it you can claim discounts and offers on everything from Le Creuset pots and pans, to a posh haircut at Boss Barbers, a free cinnamon slice at Ole & Steen, or 50% off at Mulligans, home of indoor crazy golf and much more!
While we are in town, we must mention our great friends at Molton Brown, their High Street store is a fabulous place to pick up a little something for yourself, or a special gift to take home with you.
You guessed it, we love Molton Brown.
With lots of town centres closing bank branches, we love the fact that Guildford still has plenty of banking options with Metro, Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC, and NatWest all represented on or near the High Street.
If you need details of the branch or the closest cash machine, please ask at reception.
And finally, we love them all the time, it’s the Tourist Information Centre on the High Street, Surrey’s last remaining TiC and it’s a real treasure trove of information and gifts…pop in and say hell.
That’s what we are loving, why not tell us what your favourite places are and we will include them in next month’s roundup.
