The Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are generally accepted as the most prestigious in our industry, and while it might sound somewhat trite to say it, we really were honoured to be nominated once again this year.
Created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the excellence of our hotels, spas and venues in our collection, the Awards for Excellence are a trusted mark of quality, recognised by luxury consumers and travel professionals alike.
Of course, we would have been over the moon to have won in our category of ‘Best for Meetings & Events’, but to have been chosen as one of the two finest hotels in the UK really is a massive recognition of our facilities and incredibly hard-working team of event professionals.
Everyone at Mandolay would like to congratulate (through slightly gritted teeth), the wonderful Kimpton Fitzroy London, a truly magnificent property in the heart of historic Bloomsbury. If we must come second, then we could certainly not have chosen a more worthy winner, and our sincere congratulations go to their entire team.
Condé Nast Johansens is a global collection of the finest hotels, venues, and spa retreats in the world and is quite rightly recognised as the leading reference guide for independent, discerning travellers. We would urge all of our guests to visit their excellent website, packed as it is with special offers, travel trends and tips that might surprise and delight even the most experienced traveller.
All properties featured in the Guide are personally visited at least once per year by a member of their dedicated team of highly trained and experienced hospitality experts, and hotels are only included if they meet some very exacting standards.
Their sister publications include Vogue, and GQ, and with a heritage to match any in the world, theirs is a reputation that must be respected.
We would like to thank Condé Nast Johansens for choosing to nominate Mandolay for their most prestigious awards, we appreciate the quality of the other venues in the UK, and we really are ‘honoured’.
