We are lucky enough to receive hundreds, if not thousands of online reviews and guest emails every year, and we show our appreciation by responding personally to every single message that people are kind enough to send.

The fact that we email every guest asking for feedback shows how seriously we take these opinions, and then of course there are review sites like TripAdvisor, Booking.com, and Google to consider.

All in all, we respond to lots and lots of messages, and that is just as it should be for a business like ours, it’s called the ‘hospitality’ sector for a reason.

We also use feedback as part of our management procedures, discussing comments from guests and hotel users at our regular operations meetings. This means that we can react quickly to any points that have been raised, and share the great many personal ‘shout outs’ that we receive with team members.

We recently received an online review for our Afternoon Tea that was especially touching. When prompted to mention the reason for their visit, they had rather wonderfully responded ‘For no other reason than love & friendship’.

Afternoon Tea at Mandolay is a real treat, and a bit of a Guildford tradition, we make our own pastries, scones (two types), and even our own jams and preserves. In addition to the traditional afternoon tea, we also offer varieties including bottomless Prosecco, savoury selections, and even a children’s version.

When we write about afternoon tea we mention that it’s perfect for any sort of celebration, birthday parties, baby showers, engagement announcements are all popular reasons to throw a tea party at Mandolay.

But we think that ‘for no other reason than love & friendship’ deserves its own line, and we will be including it from now on.

After all, what better thing to celebrate than love & friendship.

Flowing Prosecco afternoon tea that lives up to its name!

Myself & a friend flowing Prosecco afternoon tea, for no reason other than love & friendship!

Absolutely perfect.

Totally lived up to flowing Prosecco name, Judis, Ele & Saffron were fabulous – polite, attentive & personable.

Really reasonably priced, with yummy sandwiches, cakes & scones.

The scones came with home-made jam (really nice touch rather than a small
pot of shop bought) & oodles of cream, usually have to ask for more cream & jam at these kinds of things, but not at The Mandolay.

Highly recommended & will be back again.
